Gardner Bender Insulated Screwdrivers 2pack GS-93

Whenever I look at either of the two insulated screwdrivers in my tool chest, I'm reminded of John Wayne's immortal line from "Stagecoach": "sometimes a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do."¹ There are times when - regardless of how strenuously the manufacturer and OSHA and your mom warn you about it - you simply have to work around a live electrical circuit. And then there are the times when you're working around a circuit that might be live... 

In either case, that's when I turn to the two red beauties that came in my Gardner-Bender Insulated Screwdriver Set (GS-93). The set comprises two screwdrivers, one with a 1/4-inch (6mm) flat tip and the other with a #2 Phillips head. Both feature a five and one half inch shaft insulated with ~3/32" of high-impact plastic, which blends seamlessly into the red plastic handle. Only the final half inch (13mm) of the five and one half-inch (100mm) shaft is exposed metal. Both tips are magnetized to help keep from losing screws. The insulation is rated for up to 1000 volts - not that I'm planning on messing with that kind of voltage any time soon!
